The screenplay, vetted by Hollywood veterans, Rob Tobin and Eric Sherman, is based on Navarasa, the unedited realities of life or in simple language the shadow of our words, called emotions. It is for the first time this concept is being used in cinematic art. Involving all the Rasas on screen in the same reel has been a challenge even for the most reputed Directors. The nine lead characters in the movie are metaphorical to the Navarasas or the Nine Rasas. The movie also enlightens many more forgotten ethics of India which will astonish the world.
From the very start, the shoot for the English movie Dam 999' directed by Sohan Roy has been enmeshed with much problems.
The issue that arised due to the elimination of the veteran actor Thilakan from the cast lines, was sorted out by paying him seven lakhs as compensation. And now the new issue that has stopped the movie shoot, is around its lead artist Tulip Joshi. The actress who is in a pivotal role in the movie walked out of the sets due to certain difference of opinion with the technicians.
The crew had to stop the shoot due to non cooperation of the actress. But later Tulip Joshi agreed to come back, but this time the technicians of FEFKA refused to patch up and work with the actress.

DAM 999 movie tells the story of a dam disaster; the script is propelled by a true incident that happened in China years ago. In 1975, Banquiao Dam in China Collapsed killing around 2,50,000 people which was worse than what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thus it ended up as the world's worst man-made disaster ever happened. In the backdrop of such a real disaster, DAM 999 tells a strong story that holds realities in its depth. DAM 999 carries 9 different concepts and highlights Nine (9) in different ways. Nine characters in the movie portray each of nine emotions which are connected to nine different colors.
The cast portraying Navarasa in DAM 999 are Ashish Vidyarthi, Joshua Fredric Smith, Linda Arsenio, Rajit Kapur, Vinay Rai, Jaala Pickering, Vimala Raman, Megha Burman and Jineet Rath.
