Recession – How To Cope

Recession How To Cope

Recession How To Cope

Is the recession good for America? I don't think so. The economy is getting worse courtesy of massive layoffs, unprecedented mortgage defaults and foreclosures which all are encouraging the American consumer, who happens to drive the world economy, to spend less. All signs are telling us it's going to get even worse before it gets better.

Is there a silver lining in all of this? There is for some of us. How can that be? Every day we hear about more of our friends being laid off, companies closing, labor being outsourced to foreign countries, unemployment checks running out, people with masters degrees flipping hamburgers. And on and on.

What you don't hear about are the thousands of people who are benefiting from the recession. Let's face it, good news doesn't sell advertising time. However, it's there. The collapse of the real estate bubble will bring prices down to an affordable level. Stocks will collapse and present great buying opportunities. Neither of which I consider very positive developments as there has to be some major losers for this to happen

There are many other ways to use the economic downturn to improve your future and reap a profit the catch is most of these strategies require that you take a passive view from a position of strength and let the economy run its course. That's a great strategy to take if you have hundreds of thousands dollars sitting in the bank and can afford to wait out the economy. However, if you are operating on a tight budget already that's not going to work.

If you are already in trouble how are you going to get ahead when you can't see a light at the end of the tunnel? The good news is that this too shall pass and things will get better. The question is will you be so deeply in debt or depressed that you never recover?

Enough of this doom and gloom. The positive side of this dismal economy is that in bad times people are more open to new business opportunities. People are starting to aggressively seek out alternative sources of income. As unemployment and underemployment grow people are willing to consider strategies that they never considered before.

More good news is the global recession is opening up tremendous worldwide opportunities for you. I'm serious, there are some great opportunities out there if you open your mind to new ways of doing things. Online social networks afford us the opportunity to build international networks of friends and business associates. People interacting within their social networks have the opportunity to build worldwide product distribution businesses.

Recessions are not new; we have one every 8 years or so and they last about a year. Tracking the recessions, even going back to the great depression, shows us an industry that has consistently grown during the down cycle of the recession. That industry is the Direct Selling/Network Marketing industry. Look up the growth history of Nutrilite, Shaklee, Neolife, Amway, Mary Kay, NuSkin and you will see hyper growth during the periods of deep recessions. These are Billion dollar companies that thrived during times of economic uncertainty. Which means that their distributor forces thrived.

While I don't think this recession is good for America, it can turn out to be good for you if you are open to joining a Network Marketing company. Now is the best time to start a network marketing business. Consumers are looking for good deals from people they can trust. Many are looking for ways to make additional income.

The Network Marketing Industry with its sophisticated administrative and production distribution capability allows your social network to spread the word and receive compensation directly from the company. Your pay is based on a percentage of total sales, without the mind numbing administrative burden, product warehousing and distribution cost of a traditional business or franchise or the advertising and promotion costs often associated with affiliate marketing programs.

This worldwide recession and the coming of age of Social Media Marketing is going to change the way we market to consumers worldwide. If you recognize that fundamental change is taking place and you are willing move out of your comfort zone and take action, this will be good for you. You can be in charge of your life instead of hoping that the company you work for or the government will take care of you. Good Luck!
