Reasons That People Support The September 11 Holiday Observance
There are countless people that supported the September 11 holiday
. These individuals support the remembrance of this tragic day for a variety of reasons. The majority of individuals remember the terrorist attacks that took place in New York City in the year 2001 on that date. Thousands of people were killed in the terrorist attacks, therefore most people have no problem taking time to remember this life event. Most people become very emotional when reflecting back on their memories of that day.People that are remembering the day also take time to remember anyone they knew connected to the tragedy. Even if they did not know someone that was killed in the tragedy, they may very well be connected to someone that experienced the loss during the events of that day. It can be extremely uncomfortable to think about the events directly connected to the loss, however reflection is a necessary part of the healing process. The willingness of a large group of people to share in the grieving experience also provides a large amount of strength for people that require emotional support.
Reflecting on the emotional negativity surrounding the loss of life is not something that most people want to do. The majority of individuals can remember exactly where they were located when they received the news about the tragedy. Many people will often relive the memories each year as a way to honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
When a person is willing to look for positive parts that came from the tragedy, it is difficult but can be done. The majority of people in the world would have to say that there has been progress made in terms of tolerance of the differing belief systems that exist in the world. The increase in tolerance of different viewpoints is remarkable has drastically approved since September 11. There is no way going to be a certain level of progress that can be made, the world can always be improved. Still, people are willing to look past the differences in effort to find common ground much more often since September 11.
The fact that the day is considered a holiday is very important for children worldwide. With children understand the history that has already taken place, they can prevent it from happening again. When a child is willing to learn about world history, they will be better able to prevent future occurrences when they are old enough to make positive changes in the world. When there are better decisions being made globally, everyone benefits.
Personal patriotism is something that should be celebrated. This holiday provides an opportunity for every individual to consider the emotional strength that the survivors of the attacks on September 11, 2001 had to find within themselves. Sometimes it is beneficial when a nation can reflect on a tragedy and gain strength from the remembrance in the positives that came out of this situation.
Almost everyone supports the concept of a September 11 holiday acknowledgment. People mostly do not want to remember such a difficult time in history. Try as they may however, it is merely foolish to think that the events of that day will ever be forgotten.
