Photography has been a passion of mine for several years. For a long time I've been getting by with my Nikon D50. The problem is, as time has gone by, I've started to notice the limitations that the Nikon D50 has, and I felt the need to get something more professional. The thing is though, choices like this aren't easy to make. There are so many great digital SLRs to choose from; it's difficult deciding which one to get. So I thought, hey, why not do some thorough research on the top professional cameras.
After a while I could see that the Canon EOS 7D was so much better than many of the similar cameras on the market. Once I had found the the EOS 7D, I decided to set myself the goal of finding out everything there is to know about this camera. Then I thought it would be a good idea to gather together all the essential bits of information I'd learned about the EOS 7D, and put it all in one place for other people to see. I smile knowing that other people will have the convenience of the research I did This is the reason I wrote this. Hopefully you will find this article informative and interesting, and hopefully it will help you make your decision
Get Great Shots In Difficult Lighting!
When shooting in low light scenes, the EOS 7D definitely comes out on top. This is due to the camera's wide ISO range. The ISO range determines the camera's ability to handle different amounts of light. With many digital cameras, their ISO range only goes up to 1,600. The 7D has an ISO range of 100 to 6,400, but this can even be expanded as far as 12,800! Now you will be able to cope with low-light scenes like never before.
Superior Auto-Focus and Metering!
There are 19 different AF sensors on the 7D, which you can select manually or automatically. These are able to quickly detect the best area to focus on, due to them each having built in high-speed microcomputers with advanced algorithms. The "light source detection" notices any light from artificial sources and then compensates. It's also great for close up shooting, due to the "intelligent macro focussing", which tracks movement of the object or camera, ensuring that you never lose focus.. The customizable autofocus modes mean that you will get the best focus with every photo you take.
No matter what you are shooting, the Canon EOS 7D makes sure you get the best accuracy, with is 63-zone dual layer metering sensor and 19-point AF system. It achieves this by measuring the luminosity and color around the AF points you have chose, and uses a "color measurement function" to minimize exposure errors that could be causes by more than one exposure source. Each shot will give you great exposure, even in rapidly changing lighting, such as at a concert or party. It is also great for scenes where there are varying levels of brightness, for example backlit scenes.
