Questions Answered Regarding Varicose Vein Treatment

Two very common queries raised by people wanting cosmetic creams and treatments center around spider veins and varicose veins

. There has always been a significant interest in products that deal with these conditions from women, but increasingly there are men who are also looking for a solution to the same problems. Believe it or not, men do suffer from these conditions too.

The two conditions cause a fair amount of concern to those who have them, not least because they tend to appear on visible parts of the body and especially parts of the face such as noses and cheeks. They occur when the valves in the veins fail to operate properly and blood pools, causing the swelling and redness that people often consider unsightly.

Most of the cosmetic answers available today rely on either treatment known as psychotherapy, which is expensive and can carry some risk, or on creams that simply mask the veins. The one thing that most cream products dont do is actually treat the problem, but that is about to change with the introduction of a new generation of creams that does focus on treatment of the conditions.

These new creams actually attempt to mimic the psychotherapy treatment of spider veins and varicose veins, but they do so with a much lower risk of unwanted side effects. This is because the surgical procedures often rely on the injection of a compound into the vein which hardens the walls and eventually makes it shrink away. However, it is not as precise as it could be and the chemical used may also affect other veins, potentially leading to serious complications.

The new creams also attempt to treat the veins by hardening their walls so that they eventually shrink to nothing, but they are able to be targeted much more effectively than an injection. Rubbing the creams on the skin, right at the spot where the veins are, means that as they are absorbed they start working from the skin down, being absorbed from the vein walls from the outside and removing the chance that the agent will treat an unintended target.

As well as having the potential to be more effective than psychotherapy, the compounds that make up the new creams are all entirely natural. In fact, they have been developed from the aloe plant, whose extracts have been used for thousands of years for its healing properties. These plants contain a number of different compounds which are effective in not only reducing the appearance of spider and varicose veins, but work to maintain and strengthen healthy veins so that the problem does not simply move elsewhere.
