Once Something Is Online, It Stays There

Once Something Is Online, It Stays There

Let's say you are looking for that perfect match

, the perfect person to date and you are sitting around on a lonely night and spend a few dollars to join an Internet dating service. It doesn't cost much and has set up many a married couple, but the reason you are on the Internet trying to meet the perfect match is because you don't know that person in person. The photo and information on the person's description don't necessarily mean that the information or photo is accurate. That's just one problem with the Internet.

If you think you have met that perfect person, just remember that when you send your personal photo and personal information to the dating site that everyone in the world has access to it. That means people you don't know and simple web searchers can copy your photo and send it to whomever they want. Same as the information. You can't prevent co-workers from seeing what ever you put on the net, so be very cautions to prevent an embarrassing situation.

The whole problem is that once the information or message or, especially photos, are out on the Internet, there is not a thing you can do to remove it from the Internet and it can be severely damaging, especially if it's done by a minor who is putting out photos that are not meant for the entire world. It can be very dangerous and there's nothing you can do.

Teaching your kids how to respect the Internet and be very wary of whom they send information and photos to is vital before allowing them to sign up for a social network account. It's also dangerous for adults who get signed onto dating sites. You have no idea who that person is that messaged you or even if the person in the photo is the one who sent it. It's risky and potentially dangerous.

Always remember that if you post something on the Internet you have no control over who gets to see it. When you hit the send button or the enter button, that's the last stop before you are worldwide information. Be safe, don't post anything that can embarrass you personally or privately, and make sure your kids know the importance of safety.
