Motivating Kids In Soccer Training
Share: As a soccer coach, how will you be able to motivate your soccer player kids for them
to enjoy soccer and continue on playing? Here are useful information that you should know.
1. Never make unrealistic expectations that are not fit to the developmental level of the little players. If you expect something that are beyond their capacities, the kids will struggle to attain that expectation. If they will see that they are not progressing, the kids will slowly try to give up the game because they'll think that they have been a failure.
2. Know the child's muscle coordination and dedication level as according to his age. Player profiling is a great way for this.
3. Facilitate the little soccer players in understanding the full concept of the game, like the basic drills through demonstration. Demonstrating the fundamentals is better than oral instructions.
4. Create competitions in soccer drill training sessions. Kids will have more fun in competing with their teammates and they will get to enjoy friendly game participation.
5. Be positive when a child makes a mistake. Do not yell or give pressure to a little player because this can't motivate them to do better.
6. Don't compare your little soccer players. If you do, you are damaging the self-confidence of the children. If this happen, the fun that the game offers will be gone.
7. Challenge the kids to compete against themselves, not against other teammates. This way, they will see their personal progress. If they continue to focus on their personal progress in improving their skills, they will learn to appreciate and love soccer more.
8. Create realistic goals that the little can attend to. Encourage them always to do better next time and let them notice their progress.
Always put to mind that the ways you are teaching them will bring great effects in their lives as they grow. Teaching them to play soccer involves teaching them great values they will carry for the rest of their lives - the self-discipline, setting goals, managing time, making decisions, teamwork, fitness, sportsmanship.
