Maximize Quality Time By Playing With Your Kids

Maximize Quality Time By Playing With Your Kids

Role playing sparks childrens imagination, revealing new ideas about the world around them

. When done in groups, it enhances social interaction and improves language skills. It's also the perfect opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their kids and strengthen their bond. Try these simple simulation activities at the comfort of your home:

Play cafe'

Spice up snack time by playing cafe'! This can be done in the dining room or play area. Choose a theme, and prepare food to match the said theme. Bring out some cardboard, colored pencils, and scrapbook embellishments or magazine cut-outs, and help the kids create a menu book. Let them designate who will play which role: waiter, cashier, busboy, or entertainer. Kids love dressing up, so put together costumes that go with their roles. Put those creative juices to work and go DIY.

Stage a magic show

Instead of the usual weekend DVD marathon, why not put on a magic show in the living room? Help the kids prepare the stage by draping funky fabric over the coffee table. Bring out some glitter, glue, and an old illustration board; and make a sign announcing the event. Prop up the sign on a chair, draping a string of Christmas lights around it. Next, make a magician's hat with cardboard and black poster paint. Don't forget the white gloves and the magic wand! A lot of magical trick sets are available at any toy store nationwide for you to purchase and use in your own magic show.

Create your own artist's studio

What better way to hone little Michaelangelo's talent than to introduce a simple polymer clay sculpting project? Unlike any ordinary modeling clay, polymer clay hardens when baked in an oven, so it allows you to preserve your child's masterpieces.

Aside from clays, you and your child can also do painting and drawing together. In this way, you can enhance your child's quirky imagination and introduce him to the world of art.

Fun music studio

For children who have superb inclination to music, you can create a music studio for them. You can purchase different toy musical instruments at the toy store. You can transform their play area into a music room by decorating the walls with musical notes and fun musical drawings. You can also hang small styrofoam musical notes and pieces at the ceiling for an added attraction. Play musical instruments together with your children and sing to your heart's content!

These are just a few helpful ideas that could help you bond with your children. Spending quality time with them is the most important aspect of smart parenting.
