March Madness Betting: Conference USA Tournament Teams Wave Goodbye!
Four teams have already been sent home after being eliminated from the Conference USA title tournament after play got underway at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas on Wednesday. Four more will be sent home on Thursday. While the top-seeded UAB Blazers are considered the college basketball betting favorites to win the tournament, they are anything but a lock to take the title.

The Blazers are expected to face their first test on Thursday when they take on the East Carolina Pirates, after the latter knocked off the UCF Knights to earn their spot in the second round. Darrius Morrow led the Pirates with a double-double to help them clinch a double-digit victory, but they will have little time to prepare for the much tougher Blazers with game time set for 11 AM ET on Thursday morning. The Blazers will be challenged in the next round by one of the teams with a tough core that finished just one or two games back of them for the top seed in the Conference USA standings. The Golden Eagles have won their first game of the tournament in six straight years, but none of their second round matches have been highly anticipated.
The final second round matchup will feature the UTEP Miners battling it out with Marshall, after the Thundering Herd advanced with a 97-87 win over Houston on Wednesday. Damier Pitts continued his strong season by scoring a game-high 28 points, but he didn't do it on his own; with DeAndre Kane adding another 21 and grabbing 10 rebounds to solidify that inside-outside presence that is so crucial in the game.
The remaining eight teams will be fighting for the grand prize at the end of the line, which is an automatic bid into this year's NCAA national title tournament. The Blazers seem to be the obvious favorites after finishing first, but the semis against either Memphis or Southern Mississippi won't be a walk in the park, after which UAB will likely fight it out with Tulsa or UTEP if they get to advance.
