There are two professions that allow you to create mounts that are usable by anyone. These are two of the most awesome mounts in the game, and as such in great demand. Unfortunately the patterns to make the mounts can be hard to obtain, which increases the value further.
The value of these mounts used to be much higher, but it is still entirely possible to make a few thousand gold each by creating them to resell.
You may even consider creating the crafting specific mounts, such as the flying carpets, for resale. While these are only usable by those with the profession at a certain level, some people do not want to be bothered with making the item themselves and will willingly hand you gold to get them. The amount will be lower than the dragon or the motorcycle, but there is still a market
You can also get a little creative and offer mount runs. Guilds in the past used them to generate lots of money in the past, specifically on the Amani War Bear (a now discontinued mount.) You can modify this tactic and sell your services, or those of your group in the case of raids, to help people get them. You simply price it out per run, and hand master looter status to the person with you. Your job is simply to help them kill the boss that drops the mount.
Of course you cannot offer a guarantee with this type of service as there is no promise that these mounts will drop, but there is still a market for this kind of service as there are players that cannot be bothered to try and do it for themselves.
Finally, here is an idea for those of you who don't mind moving around. Recently Blizzard added new multi passenger flying mounts to the game. While they can be a little difficult to obtain, or expensive, they do offer a simple way to make some cash. You can simply offer a service that sells transportation from one location to another on your flying mount. You can offer this service if you have a multi passenger ground mount as well, though your results may not be as great.
Take some of these ideas and put them to use. They are just to prove that there are some really creative ways to make some easy gold in World of Warcraft.
