Money. We all want more of it. That's why we work. That's why we build businesses. Let's be honest, money makes life a whole lot easier. The more money you have, the more options you have available to you. So what can you do to start making more money today?

If you are involved in direct sales, network marketing, or run your own small business, - here is a very quick and simple suggestion to help you increase your sales, marketing, and recruiting immediately and permanently. For those that do not own a network marketing business, you really should - for a variety of good reasons. So here's the tip: any time you invite someone to watch a presentation, review some information, check out your website, play a video, or take any other action related to your business - ask them when (specifically) they intend to take that action so that you can follow up with them immediately afterwards. It seems terribly simple, but 9 out of 10 people do not take this step - and not asking the question takes money directly out of their pockets.

Here's why. It is very easy for somebody to tell you "sure, send me a link to the video" and then never get around to watching it. They probably don't intend to be rude by failing to watch your presentation, people are just lazy. By not getting them to commit to a time-line in reviewing your product, service, or business opportunity, you are allowing them to be lazy with you. And laziness is not good for your business.

In my primary company, we use a very simple and duplicatable process for recruiting people that only requires our business owners to invite prospects to presentations, webinars, or recorded videos - and the leaders of the company do all of the presenting (aka, the hard work). So on our team, when someone agrees to look at the business opprotunity, we ask the following question...

"Joe, when is the earliest that you will be able to watch that presentation?"

We don't call everybody Joe, but you understand... Joe will usually say something along the lines of "I could watch it tonight when I get home from work." Or "I'm pretty busy this week, but I can check it out this weekend." Or "Send it over and I'll watch it right now." Regardless of when Joe can watch, you now have a defined timeframe for following up with Joe - so hold him to it and schedule a follow up call...

"Great! Tell you what, Joe, I have to follow up with some other people early this evening, but will give you a call at 7:30 to get your opinion of the presentation - does that sound fair?"

Joe agrees, you scribble down a note to call him at 7:30, and off you go... Guess what happens when you call at 7:30 that evening? Joe answers. Guess what else happens? Joe watched the video. Guess what else? Joe really loved the business, he's super-excited to get started, and you just brought another person into your business. Very well done...

But guess what probably would have happened if you hadn't asked Joe when he was going to watch the presentation? Joe would not have watched the video. And Joe probably wouldn't have answered your phone call no matter when you attempted to follow up with him. Good thing you asked that question and got a firm time committment... If you are not currently asking that question of your prospects, how much more money do you think you could earn in your business once you do start asking it..?
