The first factor is desire. So many enter into the world of MLM through a meeting in a home, hotel or even an online presentation. During those presentations the individual is presented with imagery and examples of successful people. During that brief moment in time a person begins to imagine the possibilities. Caught up in the moment they fill out the new distributor paperwork, order their start up materials and head out into the sunset with stars in their eyes. In time the reality of MLM sets in and the new distributor finds out this truly is a business. This is the point where the daydream fades and desire must take over. In reality, your desire for a better life has to be so strong that you will keep pressing on. You will keep talking to people. You will keep presenting your product and your opportunity. Without a level of desire that refuses to quit, you will ultimately give up and never get your share of the business that is being done through multi level marketing.
The second factor is the learning of your craft. Too many network marketers treat their businesses more like a hobby and not a business. This mindset causes them to cut corners on learning the skill sets that it takes to be successful in this type of business. It is imperative that training move beyond motivational CDs and presentations, instead focusing on the real operational mechanics of a network marketing business. This would include such things as lead generation, online marketing and sales skills. These are the things that will put you in front of prospective buyers and team members, plus they will give you the ablity to convert those leads into sales and new distributors.
The final factor is discipline to the habits that will make you successful. Many would be entrepreneurs wipe out of multi level marketing, because they simply lack the discipline to apply what they have been trained to do. This is the place that unwavering desire has to do the motivating. All of the training in the world is useless if it is not applied. On the other hand, consistent and methodical execution of sound business building practices will always allow you to make money in network marketing.
When you really take a close look at it, the factors that keep people from making money in MLM really are issues of internal motivation and commitment. When these issues are addressed, the sky truly is the limit in your MLM business.
