By the mid- to late-1960s, the next generation "folded link" bracelet appears, as you can see in this 1974 Rolex Date Ref. 1500 (bracelet ref. 7835). To increase durability, the links are slightly thicker overall than the "rivet" variation and are folded inwards to hold the pin inside,
link as opposed to having the ends exposed with the
link rivets on the outside like the earlier
link variation.
