The Indianapolis Colts posted a solid 14-2 season last year

, making it all the way to the Super Bowl in the 2009-10 campaign that saw them losing the championship game to the New Orleans Saints. The 2009-10 Colts were missing a couple key players including Bob Sanders and Anthony Gonzalez for most of the season, but the Indy team still managed to get along just fine without them. Now that the Colts are gearing up for the start of the 2010-11 regular season, here are some injury-prone players to watch going into the preseason.

Bob Sanders: Sanders is one of the most effective strong safeties in the entire league and is a definite nightmare to opposing teams - when he's healthy, that is. Sanders has missed a significant portion of games over the last couple seasons and since his NFL debut in 2004 has played only 47 out of a possible 96 regular season games. Still, when he's healthy he's an unstoppable force on the football field.

Last year Sanders was sidelined for most of the season with a knee injury and then a biceps tear. He's never been healthy going into training camp, but the veteran finally looks like he's 100 percent so far this season, which is great news for the Colts. One way Indy might maximize Sanders' wellbeing this year is to have him split time with Melvin Bullitt in the safety position. Bullitt did a fantastic job at replacing Sanders last year, and he shouldn't be counted out as competition for the starting job. Keep an eye on this situation to get ironed out within the first few weeks of the regular season.

Anthony Gonzalez: Gonzo's season-ending knee injury last season exposed the Colts' backup core of wide receivers, to which Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie as well as Colts fans quickly thanked him for. Gonzalez exited the 2009-10 season as a top dog and now re-enters with some competition, but his chemistry with Peyton Manning is still unquestionable.Indianapolis Colts Tickets - Injury Watch For Indianapolis Colts Starters

Gonzo enters this season healthy though not having been healed for long. He even recently missed out on the Colts' minicamp, though he made up for it by traveling to Tennessee to get in some extra reps with Manning this offseason. He's still getting back into the full swing of things, which might put a strain on how much time he gets on the field from the start, but Gonzalez will still be a crucial part of the Colts' offense this season and is certainly a name that sells Indianapolis Colts tickets regardless.

Adam Vinatieri: The Colts' prolific place-kicker was knocked out of contention and played in just six regular season games last year, undergoing offseason surgery on his right hip and knee and not healing quickly enough to come back into the game for Super Bowl XLIV. Matt Stover took Vinatieri's place and did a solid job, but now that Vinatieri is back he will ease back into his starting role without much ado.

Jeff Saturday: News that center Jeff Saturday would miss two to six weeks starting in mid-August shook the Colts' training camp, but it wasn't completely unexpected to those on the team. Saturday, who rarely ever misses playing time, underwent arthroscopic knee surgery to help repair an injury built up over time, and the Colts are hoping for a speedy recovery that will put him back in contention toward the start of the regular season.

The Colts face some tough teams in the first few weeks of the regular season (Texans, Giants and Broncos in Weeks 1-3), so having Saturday back is essential to the team's success. Without him, third-year center Jamey Richard will set up snaps for Peyton Manning, but hopefully for the Colts Jeff Saturday will be back on the field in no time.
