Most of us want to lose weight quickly with minimum effort

. Its the predominant fantasy for the majority of overweight people, and very much in line with the abundance enjoyed by the Western world.




The idea of losing weight quickly and easily is further encouraged by two other ideas: "Get as much as you can," (whether it be money, career, marriage, material goods) and "invest as little as possible" (time, thought, resources).




Your age or gender doesnt matter. We all dream of being able to change "here and now." And it would be ideal if our new body could happen while we sleep, so that we can just "wake up" to a new reality.




Nowadays everything we do must be instant. We live in a speedy world and we want results here and now.




It's the same with losing weight.




This is why the idea of a "diet" is so popular. It is fueled by the principle of here and now with a minimum amount of effort.




Think about it. Whats the real idea behind dieting? You hardly have to do anything. The products (or the foods) "will do the work for you."




So what if its a dangerous, even a "murderous diet? At least you "don't have to do anything." Just don't eat, of course.




The whole concept of a diet is one of the most pernicious myths of weight loss. A diet doesnt require us to do or think very much. We just sit back, cross our legs, and dont eat - and we can still lose weight.




This is why the temptation to diet is so great, and why so many fall under its spell. It doesnt require us to THINK or be AWARE.




Have you already tried to diet? Then you know that all youre required to do is suppress your desires, ignore your body's signals, and become strictly dependent on outside forces - the diet or the eating program that dictates what you should and shouldn't eat.




The results? Mood swings" depending on your weight loss that week or your calorie count that day. And a constant feeling of restriction and negativity.




The point is, if you do not INTERNALIZE change - and adopt a new way of thinking and behaving - chances are that you will be back on a diet very soon. You will have to repeat the cycle over and over again.




All of your efforts will be wasted. You will be on yet another fantasy diet.




What is a real weight loss and how can I do it?




When I talk about a "real change," I mean internalizing new ways of thinking and behaving - and implementing them in an active and real way in our lives.




Otherwise your live become just like the old saying, "If you keep going in the same direction, youll get to where youve already been."




You need to get to another place, a NEW place, to make changes that stick and result in lasting weight loss.




Real weight loss can happen only when the process includes learning and internalizing new perspectives and behaviors. It requires practice and training so these changes transform into an integral part of your life.




This process requires patience, with no room for short cuts. Its like a financial investment. Progress is slow but steady. And it pays off handsomely, because it promises weight loss that lasts a lifetime (not just a few months). Your new body becomes an integral part of your life.




Theres even a bonus: a double kind of enjoyment. You can enjoy the "view" on the way to your new body - and you can even enjoy yourself once you have reached your weight loss goal!
