The countryside can provide a great escape from the hard work of everyday life. You may not have previously considered a break close to home, but more and more holidaymakers are heading to UK destinations. But you don't even have to spend money on meals out to have a good time. There is an endless amount of quality, good value accommodation throughout the UK with catering facilities. Depending on your needs, you can book cottages, caravans or lodges that have catering facilities to your liking. You can buy homegrown and homemade produce at a good price and do it all yourself- and save some money too. This is another way to keep expenses down; you can make home cooked food in a different environment, whilst enjoying the company of your friends or loved ones.
Activities are important too on a break. And again, they don't always have to cost a fortune. Many parts of the UK offer opportunities to do activities different to those you can find at home and, you never know, they could become a hobby for a lifetime. Obviously, you know the type of activities that would be more suited to you than others. How about trying Walking, cycling, horse riding, golf or fishing? Many of these are fairly cheap and can prove very enjoyable. A visit to a museum or a historical monument may also appeal, and quite often are free of charge.
You can also enjoy the environment and scenic views. Much of our land is taken for granted and isn't truly appreciated, whereas a break of this sort can provide happiness and satisfaction.
There are many destinations in Britain that could offer much of the above.
