In 1536, the park served as a hunting ground of King Henry VIII. It was in 1637 that Charles I opened the park to general public. The park covers an area of 350 acres making it the largest of all the Royal parks in London. This mesmerizing piece of landscaping has been designed by Kathryn Gustafson. The memorial is an oval structure made using 545 pieces of Cornish granite.
