Mumbai, capital of the state of Maharashtra is the most populated metropolis in India

Delhi is famous for the India Gate, Lotus Temple, Akshardham Temple and Humayuns Tomb.

Delhi is well connected to Mumbai by road, rail and air routes as both are important cities of India.

There are primarily two routes by road from Mumbai to Delhi. The first route via Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Udaipur and Jaipur on the NH8 is at a distance of 1448 km and takes approximately 20 hours. As the journey is long, one can take suitable break points at any one of the main cities in between which offer wide range of facilities. The alternate route via Nasik and Indore on the NH3 is at a distance of 1409 km. But the time taken for travel from Mumbai to Delhi on this route is 22 hours as the road conditions are not really good.How To Travel From Mumbai To Delhi


There are a few AC Volvo private bus services from Mumbai to Delhi with a changeover at Ahmedabad and the fare is about Rs 4000. Since the travel takes about 32 hours, it would be advisable not travel by bus as it can be very uncomfortable.

If affordable and travelling in a small group, you could also hire a private taxi; the hire charges for which (round trip) starts from Rs 25000 onwards.

There are many train services from Mumbai to Delhi which is faster and economical than road travel. The Mumbai New Delhi Rajdhani (12951) departs from Mumbai Central at 16.40 hours and arrives at New Delhi the following day at 08.30 hours. The three times a week Bandra Nizamuddin Garib Rath (12909) leaves from Bandra at 16.55 hours and arrives at New Delhi the next day at 09.40 hours.

The best way to travel from Mumbai to Delhi is by air as many airlines conduct services between these two cities. The journey takes only 2 hours and the fare starts from Rs 4700 and upwards. One can easily book for rail or air tickets from any of the net portals.
