Some of the external nurture factors are the ethnicity, social and economic situation as well as the geographical location the child grows up in.

So with all the things that can be stacked against a child such as genes and nurture issues what are you suppose to do to keep your child from being overweight? The answer is being active and exercising/ This does not mean you have to force your kid to jump on a treadmill daily or work with a personal trainer. It must be fun activities that your child will enjoy such as sports. Where you can be proactive is not allowing your kid to veg out on TV all day and to encourage them to get outside and play.
