I know that the idea of having to author a product from scratch fills a lot of people with a sense of foreboding. "I really can't write", or "Who would want to use my product?" are common responses.
But the more palatable truth is that creating an online product need not actually be fraught with difficulty. In fact, you don't necessarily even need to author your own product yourself.
Fast ways to create your product:
1. Going interview someone and turning that into your product.
This is a great and often overlooked way of getting your product created. Choose a subject matter that you think will sell. Find an expert in that field and ask to go and interview them about how they became so experienced. The roots of their success. And so on.
Now simply transcribe that interview and sell it, perhaps with some bonuses, as your exclusive product.
Surprisingly you'll discover that experts with a real passion for a subject are often quite happy to share that experience and knowledge for free.
2. Interestingly we are all unwittingly knowledgeable about something or other. And somewhere out there, there will be some people who are prepared to pay for that information.
Ask someone else to write the product for you. Let's assume here that perhaps your husband, wife or partner have some interesting knowledge on a particular subject. You could simply ask them to author the product. Depending on your relationship with them they may or may not charge you. But you get the idea.
Of course there are plenty of others ways to pull together an online product. Lots of tips and advice to help make it easier to market your product. And some skills that you will require in order to make it electronically available to download - but none of these things are insurmountable and the rewards can be simply huge.
Stories of earning six or even seven figure incomes are flung around the internet all the time and you should ignore much of this. However, it certainly is true that by creating a series of successful products you can make a very good living online. And almost certainly better than whatever you are or were earning through a 9 to 5 job working for someone else.
