There are a number of government grants for starting a business and there can be
a lot of competition for them unless you know where to look and how to apply. It really isn't as difficult as many people make out, at least, not if you have a little help and know what you're doing.
Small businesses are frequently started on a shoestring budget, but what if you could have the money you need to really start things off with a bang? What many people do is apply for more than one government grant, aiming for the smaller, more specific ones. And a large number of people end up gaining two, three or even four of the grants they apply for, which can add up to more than the original, general funding.

This isn't the same as writing a letter and if you don't yet have a business plan or budget carefully planned out, you will definitely need to before continuing with your application. They are looking for details and you'll need to provide plenty of information in the correct format if you want to be successful.
It's a good idea to take a look at some sample proposals and be sure that you know what you're doing before applying. Tutorials can be a great way to go if you can't find an experienced mentor in the field. While it's possible to write your own application for a government small business grant, you need to make sure you are doing it properly or it will never reach the decision makers.
