How The Halloween Horror Film Can Help You Survive A Deadly Encounter

While there are crimes committed most people enjoy this modern version of the ancient Celtic holiday, and when it is over return to their normal lives.
Other people like my form partner and supervisor on a security job enjoy the horror films the season inspires, and his favorite horror franchise is Halloween. Now when you're on a security job even if your vigilant you have plenty of time to think about what the worst-case scenario when it comes to self defense things don't get much worse than dealing with a homicidal killing machine.
For those of you don't know the story behind the horror franchise it begins with six-year-old Michael Myers murdering his seventeen year old sister on Halloween and the story picks up fifteen years later when Myer escapes the mental institution where he's been living. He returns to his home town on his favorite holiday to terrorize babysitters and anyone else he runs into (girls who babysit should self defense).
Throughout the series he is pursued by Dr. Sam Loomis a psychiatrist played by Donald Pleasence who despite being an academic is a pretty tough guy and hell of a shot. Throughout the films Michael is shot, stabbed, bludgeoned, and blown up, but he is an unstoppable force who kills a number of people as he tries to wipe out his entire family (and you thought your relatives were bad).
Now chances are if you blast someone with a shotgun or hit them with a truck they'll probably be dead or in no shape to fight, but what do you do when you have to deal with a real life killer? Be aware of what is going on in your area, and keep emergency supplies in case help can't get you right away. If you're being stalked or notice some other odd behavior let the police know, so you're not alone if something bad happens.
When you're enjoying a fun evening with friends don't let anyone go off alone if they don't have to, and make sure everyone gets home safe (if you feel the need to have sex don't forget lock the door). If you're babysitting small children make sure they know what the emergency numbers are, and where to run if there is an emergency and they need to get out of the house.
Even without any supernatural trappings dealing with someone who has killed people is frightening, so have good training to rely on in a crisis. First and foremost if you can run away, you don't have anything to prove other than you value your life. If you have weapons they're only useful if people are trained how to use them effectively and have access to them.
Also look around at what is handy and can be used as a weapon if you're cornered. When it comes to actual close combat unload with everything you have, and be brutal and efficient. You can kill someone by blood loss, asphyxiation, and blunt force trauma and any of these can be accomplished in a number of ways. If you're trained beforehand you'll know what to do, and if you've studied a good system you will be. Don't stop fighting until they're dead and worry about the consequences later when you're alive to talk about what happen.
