Hiking Intensive Rafting Trips Through The Grand Canyon

It goes without saying that the Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular natural places you are likely to ever behold

. There are plenty of ways that you can enjoy the stunning beauty of this unique area. Of course, there are many viewing spots along the rim that you can drive right up to and see the canyon. There are also burro trips to the bottom or the side canyons, and some people bravely hike to the bottom and back. Of course, for the more adventurous, there are Grand Canyon river rafting expeditions featuring some of the best and biggest rapids in the world. For those who like to do a little more exploring than you might find on a normal river trip, a hiking-intensive rafting trip down the Grand Canyon lets you discover the hidden wonders of the area while enjoying the rapids as well.

Hiking the Grand Canyon is an experience like no other. Its many side canyons and creeks create small oases that will make you believe you have found a little piece of paradise. Lush with greenery and perfect for swimming and sunning, these secret spots are only found by those who take the time and effort to get there.

Rafting the Grand Canyon is, of course, one of the greatest adventure experiences out there. The amazing rapids attract people from all over the world, pretty much all year round. A hiking intensive expedition through the canyon, however, is probably best done in the month of April when the flowers are in full spring bloom. The temperatures are still cool enough that the hiking is pleasant, yet warm enough that those swimming holes are awfully inviting once you get there.

These hiking intensive trips can, of course, be strenuous, so you should be in pretty decent shape before you attempt such an adventure. Though you will be with experienced guides, most of the trails that you are going to encounter are not maintained, so they can be a bit rough. There is also a vertical aspect to a number of them, so some experience with this sort of canyon hiking would be helpful.

You'll also want to make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen, bug spray and water. Your guides will likely provide you with a list of everything you are going to need before your trip, so you'll have plenty of time to stock up.

All in all, if you want to see this wondrous place in a way few ever will, a Grand Canyon hiking and rafting expedition is the way to go.
