Grand Canyon Coach Trips Are Great For Budget Travelers

Grand Canyon Coach Trips Are Great For Budget Travelers

The vacation you have been planning for so long is finally about to happen and you want it to be special for everyone that attends

. While you could have gone anywhere for your vacation, you are sure to enjoy the choice of going to the Grand Canyon. The least expensive way to go there is by taking one of the South Rim bus tours that leave from Las Vegas.

You could, of course, fly by helicopter or airplane to the canyon, or you could rent a car and drive there yourself (not recommended). While there are some good points to each of these other options, the most cost effective way is to take a coach tour. You will also get a boxed lunch, free pickup and drop off at your hotel, all fees, and a professional to drive you and be your guide when you take coach tours. You will also get to take some great pictures at Hoover Dam on the tour when they stop.

You should plan fifteen hours at least when you go on your South Rim bus trip because it will take all day. While this may sound like a very long trip, when you consider that it takes five and a half hours to and from Las Vegas, you should understand. There's plenty to see along the way, though, including Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, the Kaibab Plateau, fabled Route 66 and the Mojave Desert. The buses are climate-controlled and have comfortable seats, so the drive will be enjoyable.

Many people taking South Rim bus tours upgrade their tour package to include a helicopter ride from the South Rim to the North Rim and back. During this 30-minute flight you'll see the Colorado River, Dragoon Corridor, Grand Canyon Village and Phantom Ranch. The people that have added the chopper flights to their tour of the Grand Canyon have said that this really made their trip much better.Grand Canyon Coach Trips Are Great For Budget Travelers

Deluxe Grand Canyon bus tours have been starting to appear as an option. Instead of using large buses that seat more than 40, these deluxe tours use smaller, deluxe motor coaches (or customized vans) with seating limited to around 12 passengers. You will have to pay more for these trips but the experience will be more personal than those that you will take on the other bus trips. Some people who have taken these deluxe tours call their driver/guide a ?travel butler.? The trip will be made up only of the excursions that the passengers wish to take part in.Grand Canyon Coach Trips Are Great For Budget Travelers

South Rim bus tours typically give their passengers about three hours to explore the National Park. That typically gives them enough time. The route that the bus takes will take you past some famous landmarks like Yavapai Point and Mather Point so you can get a look at them from the comfort of the bus. Your tour should also allow you to visit the Grand Canyon Village. This is a historic area that features several restaurants (I recommend the restaurant in Bright Angel Lodge), gift shops and museums.

The extensive shuttle system that is available at the park can be used during your time there as well. The shuttle buses are free and run every 15 minutes, and they'll help you see areas your bus tour doesn't include. I recommend that you download a free copy of The Guide put out by the park service. The map of the park and the shuttle schedule will be very useful. When you visit the parks official site you can download it.

Using these coach tours to see all that you can at the Grand Canyon National Park is a great way to create wonderful memories for a reasonable price. They do take the biggest part of the day but you can be on the Vegas Strip by about nine in the evening. The whole experience is so great that many people consider it to be one of the things that they simply must do when they are in Vegas. Put one of these South Rim bus excursions at the top of your to-do list while you're in the Vegas area.
