As a child begins to get one aspect of math, it could be a good idea to phase out the aid over time. Eventually the homework needs to get done without special aids, and knowing when to take them away is essential in their learning achievements.

Careful planning and time management can be used to help pass the time. A session could contain some easy math games to start using concepts that are already known. Then there may be some one on one time, followed by another concept game. The games may help to break up the time while still teaching important lessons.
