Therefore, despite the national economic crisis and housing price downturn, Washington ranked second on the Forbes list of the best long-term housing markets in the country. Therefore, the economy is solid and is a great place to visit for its rich history and modern advances.
One great place to visit is the National Postal Museum. Museum tours are a great way to learn about the National Postal Service and how the business is run.
You can even learn at interactive computer kiosks in the museum atrium which can dig into the museum's collection and virtual vault. For another activity, you can also visit the William H. These monuments and memorials are to honor the generals, politicians, poets and statesmen who helped shape our great nation. You can see statutes and plaques on many street corners around the city and visit them all.
You can also tour the three Houses of Government including the U.S. Capitol Building, the White House and the U.S. Supreme Court where you can gain a fuller understanding of the division of power within our democratic government.
If you would like to explore the natural outdoor scene, you can take a hike at Great Falls Park. Here you can bring a picnic and enjoy spectacular views of the Potomac River at this 800 acre park, located just 14 miles from central Washington D.C.
You can also explore Mount Vernon with its new addition of the new museum and education center. This is a fun full day excursion where you can explore the state of the art galleries and theaters as well as the 500 acre estate of George Washington and his family.
