Myrtle Beach Offers Adventures
Myrtle Beach is located on the coast of South Carolina in the southern region of
the United States and is a complex of beach towns and barrier islands surrounding it. There are many things to see and do here for people of all ages.There are certainly plenty of activities to suit many interests and specialties. Here are some things to do while you are in the area.
First, you should be sure to enjoy the boardwalk which is a new 1.2 mile stretch over the Atlantic Ocean. This is a great site for you and your family to enjoy; you can experience the sea breeze and beautiful sunrises.
You can also see the butterflies in the spring. Brookgreen Gardens opens a new Butterfly House which displays dozens of species of butterflies native to the southeast.
For a view of the past, you can see history live and enter another world to experience. The L.W. Paul Living History Farm is a 17 acre farm that recreates life in Horry County in the early 1900s.
Another popular activity in the area is The Radical Ropes Adventure Park which opens in June and features high ropes courses with extreme zip lines that soar above a 5 acre forest, offering views of treetops and the ocean on the horizon. This is a daring adventure that will push you out of your comfort zone for an unforgettable, priceless experience.
After you take a walk on the wild side, you can pamper yourself at a local spa for a facial or a massage. Massage Envy Spa is just one in the area.
Also Sanctuary Spa is a great place for some therapy or just a beauty pick me up. You can get your nails done or relax during an exclusive treatment.
You can also catch a bite at the inlet. There are numerous restaurants that can be found along the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, like the newly renovated Bovine's which offers wood fired specialties from steak to pizza.
While you are in the area, there are also many golf courses for you to get your swing on and enjoy some healthy competitions with other locals or your own party. The area boasts more than 100 golf courses and almost all of them are beautiful; it is like a golfer's paradise.
After hitting the green, you can hit the sand. With 60 miles of shoreline along the Grand Strand, there is bound to be a perfect spot for you to enjoy by yourself or with your family.
There are many beach activities to enjoy such as surfing, body boarding, volleyball, reading and running just to name a few. This is a beautiful coastal area at which you are sure to have fun.
While you are by the water, you can enjoy some fishing on the pier. There are eight fishing piers located along the beach and on backwater creeks for you to work with.
You can also pay homage to Cal. The Ripken Experience is a collection of baseball fields modeled after historic ballparks.
This experience offers youth baseball and softball tournaments throughout the year. If you are a baseball fan, this is a place you will want to visit.
Another fun activity in Myrtle Beach is miniature golf. This is a large center for miniature golfing as well as regular golfing.
There are over 50 courses to choose from for the miniature tournament style. This is a fun date night or family activity.
If you are in town at the right time, you can even enjoy the Fourth of July Boat Parade in Murrells Inlet. This is a celebration in style with decorated boats and docks and a colorful fireworks display.
After you have worked up an appetite, you can catch a bite on the pier. The Springmaid Beach Pier recently renovated and reopened the Pier Cafe.
This is a casual beachfront eatery with a great view. Take in the ocean atmosphere while you fill up the tank for more adventure.
Another option is to take a stroll along Broadway at the Beach, a shopping and entertainment mecca. This surrounds a 23 acre lake and offers boutiques, nightclubs, restaurants and hotels.
Whether you sleep under the stars or enjoy a lavish hotel, there is an adventure waiting for you in Myrtle Beach. When you are ready to visit, they are ready to entertain you.
