Sunderbans National Park in West Bengal: Covering 54 islands in West Bengal, this park has been recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO. The mangrove forests of Sunderbans are home to the famous Royal Bengal tiger as well as different species of wild pigs, spotted deer, monkeys, herons, kingfishers and white-bellied eagles.
Kaziranga National Park in Assam: It is marked by the long presence of the unicorn or one horned rhino, which is the major reason for drawing tourists. There are also other types of wildlife. Among these, the prime attractions are elephants, Indian bison, sloth bears, wild boar, pythons, leopard, capped langurs, hog deer and tigers. Apart from wild animals, the national park also houses a large variety of bird species. Some of these are grey-headed fishing eagle, oriental honey buzzard, Brahminy kite, white tailed eagle, black-shouldered kite and migratory birds.
