If you've been following my article series, your informative website will now be online ready to generate sales by which you'll earn commission. The next step is to let your customers know your site is online, so that's what we'll focus on in this article.In my next few articles we are going to look at the different methods you can employ to draw users to your site. Doing this next section well will be the making of your website and if you build traffic accumulation effectively, you will be highly rewarded in sales which will convert into a high online income for you to enjoy.It's all very well to have a website, but what you need to make sure is that it is effective in generating sales. What you need is a system that lets you know whether your site will be profitable or not and a great tool for this can be found at Google.com/analytics. You can increase the likelihood of sales using the features Google Analytics provides because it helps you identify the demographic of people you should be targeting. For example, where does your ideal customer shop, what do they like, where do they live etc. Once you know key things like this, you'll learn how to mould your marketing scheme to suit their wants and needs and, by connecting with them on this level, you're much more likely to see your income increase!Sign up to your free account at Google.com/analytics; once it is open, you can log in and complete your account set up. In the 'New Account Signup' enter in the website URL that you want Google Analytics to track (which is, of course, your new website), give your account a name and select the appropriate time zone and country. Check the box to agree the terms and conditions and then 'Create Account'.The page will refresh and you will see a page appear confirming the website you are tracking along with a code (in box 2). It is imperative that you copy this code and save it to your Copy Sheet. This is a really important step so don't overlook it! Then scroll down and 'Save and Finish'.(Note: you will see a message that tells you 'Tracking Not Installed' - don't worry about this as it will disappear in a few days when Google have gathered your data)To make it easier to use Google Analytics on our website, we should install the corresponding 'Plug-in'; go to your WordPress home page (your website URL followed by /wp-admin), go to the Dashboard, find 'Plug-ins' and then 'Manage Plug-ins' and 'Add New'. In the drop down box, choose 'Terms' and enter Google Analytics into the subsequent box. This will retrieve the 'Plug-in' by Joost de Valk.As we did in article 8, to install the 'Plug-in' , click 'Install' on the right side of the screen and 'Install Now' on the following screen. Now 'Activate the Plug-in' and look to see if you can see Google Analytics under the 'Settings' tab in the Dashboard to check it has successfully gone through.If you click on 'Google Analytics', a screen will open up telling you 'Google Analytics is not active. You must enter your UA string'' in a red box. Select 'Click to authenticate' your Google Analytics code account and another window will open up. Here you must 'Grant Access' to your Google Analytics account. After this your WordPress page will reappear and you will be asked to type in your 'UA code'. This code can be found on your Google Analytics Account Overview. Once you've input your code, 'Update Google Analytics' settings on WordPress.That's it Google will now start analysing visitors to your site, which you can view at any time(Note: There will be a slight delay in the start up of your Google Analytics account because, in the initial few days, your account will still be processing.)Now that you know who to target, you need to make sure you start promoting your product! Google Analytics has given you the information regarding how to style your marketing, so now you have to put what you've learnt into practise.In the first stage, of a series of methods we are going to employ, I would like you to register you website address in the following list of sites. Signing up to these free accounts will ensure you get indexed by the search engines and this will offer a massive help in driving traffic to your site. This list can appear daunting because it is quite big and, of course you don't need to sign up to them all, but the more you log in to the higher your numbers will be:- websiteoutlook.com- statbrain.com- builtwith.com- snapshot.compete.com- aboutus.org- quantcast.com- cubestat.com- whois.tools4noobs.com- alexa.com- siteadvisor.cn- whois.domaintools.com- aboutdomain.org- whoisya.com- who.is/whois-com- robtex.com- zimbio.com- whois.ws- whoisx.co.uk- searchanalytics.compete.comThe above accounts will benefit you in many ways; for example, you will be able to find out which keywords are sending traffic to your website and compare your domain status look up performance (how it rates in terms of search numbers and whether it belongs in the Top 100 searched list). Using these sites you can check your domain for current back links, and see your domian's trend/ranking, you can value your domain worth, domain page views and daily Ad revenues. You will get information on estimated monthly visitors and can get statistics relating to your website's performance online.Although you may look at the above list and think registration is far too time consuming, I highly recommend completing the sign up process for as many of these as you can (preferably to all of them)becaue it really is a great way to ensure your website goes viral.
