How To Create Rapport With Your Prospects In Your Online Home Business!


No matter what type of business you have, whether it be an online home

business, a brick and motor business, a real estate business, or a hot

dog stand, you need to talk to people. When I say talk to people, I

mean have a real conversation, let them do most of the talking and

create a rapport with them.

Even if you do all your business online, there will come a time when

you will need to talk to your prospects. Especially now days, when

everyone is so leery of spending their money. People want to make

sure the person they are dealing with is real, that their business is

legitimate.

Be Attentive

When striking up a conversation with someone, let them do most of the

talking, and be very attentive to what they are saying. Let them know

you really are listening by asking a question about what they just

said. When you learn how to attentively listen to someone, they will

feel more comfortable around you, or on the phone, and they will want

to do more business with you.

Listening closely to someone also helps build their self-esteem up.

Have you ever came home from work and was too tired to listen to your

spouse or your kids? All you want to do is sit down, maybe have a cold

one, and just vege out for awhile. Most of the time your spouse will

understand, especially if they work also, but kids do not understand.

Kids get very excited when their mom or dad come home and they want to

tell them all about their day. Maybe their new friend they just met at

school, or how they hit a home run in their baseball game.

When a parent is too tired to listen to their kids, they get a very

low self-esteem and most will just go to their room thinking, you do

not care about them. It is very important to listen to everyone in

your family just as you would a prospect ready to buy from you. We

all need our self-esteem lifted!

Have Self-Discipline

You also need to learn to have self-discipline when listening to

someone else talk. It is very easy for your mind to wander off on

what happened to you today. Someone might say a word that will

trigger a story you just have to tell, and you stop really listening

to that person, waiting for them to just take a breath, so you can

talk.

Your mind can actually process words at five hundred to six hundred

words per minute, and you can only talk about One Hundred and Fifty

words per minute. So because of the spread between hearing and

listening it takes a lot of self-discipline to stay focused on what

the other person is talking about.

Your mind will actually wander in millions of different directions at

one time. Learning to stay focused on the conversation of what

someone else is saying will help you gain respect, more friends and of

course more prospects for your online home business.

Take A Breath

A great habit to start, is to talk a breath before answering someone,

after they are through talking. You really never know for sure if

they are finished telling their story or asking their question. They

may be just trying to finish their thought of putting their words

together.

If you pause before talking yourself, then you will know for sure they

are done and therefore you will not be interrupting. By doing this it

will also allow their words to soak into your mind, before your mind

wanders to another conversation. It is also called, Respect!

When you finally think someone is through talking, answer with a

question. Ask them, What do you mean exactly?, this will let them

know that you are truly listening to them. By asking this question,

What do you mean exactly?, is also a perfect way to keep the

conversation going.

Once you learn, To Listen, no matter if it is to your spouse, your

kids, your friends, or your prospects, you will be amazed at the

rapport you will gain with them. How much people will enjoy talking to

you and how much success you will have with your online home business.
