Various footwear fads may come and go but one style that will always stay in vogue is the cowboy boot
. The western look complete with prairie prints and tassels often makes an appearance on the catwalk, yet even when it isn't influencing designers, a little of the Wild West lives on in the cowboy boot all year round.Classic cowboy boots come up somewhere between the calf and the ankle and have a chunky heel that's often angled inwards. They have a gently pointed toe and their other distinctive feature is their high sides with V front. They also often have tabs on either side too. Traditionally worn by cowboys and popular with fans of Country and Western music, cowboy boots are now hugely popular all over the world.
As they're so versatile it's easy to see why. Due to their timeless shape, not only will they not date year on year, they're also great to wear all year round come rain or shine. As is the way with fashion, the cowboy boot is always evolving, so you can find all different types of incarnations available.

Country girl classic
Cowboy boots and denim shorts go together like milk and cookies. It's a look that worked for Daisy Duke and will continue to work for summers to come. Cowboy boots can look quite sexy as their loose shape around the ankle really shows of the shape of your legs - so don't over-do it! The key to this look is to make it look effortless so keep it uncomplicated with a just plain shirt or tee and simple accessories. A tan also helps!
A feminine summer look
Floral print skirts and dresses are everywhere in the summertime. Rather than ballerina pumps or sandals, try teaming a pretty dress with chunky cowboy boots for a funky mix of masculine and feminine. With the right accessories this look can work for daytime or for going out at night. In summer light skin tones should stick to tan coloured boots with bare legs as these will be more flattering. Dark coloured boots could shorten your legs unless you wear dark tights too.
Edgy rock chick style
For a contemporary twist on the cowboy boot, try a slouchy studded pair. Black cowboy boots and black skinny jeans will give you a rock'n'roll look that's simple yet striking day or night. Look for studded accessories to match but don't go over the top - let your boots do the talking!
