However, whether you've designed it yourself or somebody else did it for you, you need to really like your tattoo or you'll be very sorry you got it done. If you're not sure about it, you'd probably be better off with a temporary tattoo.
When you begin to design tattoos, there are a few steps you might want to follow. First of all, you should make up your mind what you want your tattoo to stand for, if you want it to be big or small, flashy or discrete etc. and where you want to place it on your body. Then, think of several ideas for the design and pick the best. When you've decided how you want your tattoo to look, get a sheet of paper and start drawing. If you don't like what you've come up with, don't hesitate to start again.
If you like the result and you know you've done a good job, maybe you should design tattoos for other people too and even start a business. It could be a great way to express your creativity and make some money at the same time.
Getting a tattoo can be a fashion statement, an act of rebellion, a means of expression etc.
People shouldn't get a tattoo that just looks cool, but instead get one that defines their personality or a particular moment in their lives. If you understand that, you'll probably be able to design tattoos.
