Christmas Shopping in Hastings
We're guessing that some of you probably don't want to think about it yet but the time has come to talk about Christmas!
The shops are already putting in their displays and stocking up on Christmas goodies so it's becoming impossible to avoid it any longer. We thought we'd give you a hand with a Festive Event Guide for the Hastings area.
How are you going to fit all your shopping in?
Priory Meadow is open 7 days a week, Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 5.30 (7.00pm on Thursdays) and Sunday 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Parking in the Priory Meadow Car park is Monday - Saturday 7am -12pm
Sunday 9am - 11pm. Charges start from 1 for 1 hour up to all day for a Fiver (Sunday 1 all day)
You can leave your little ones with the Cheeky Monkeys Crche where qualified staff will make sure they'll have lots of fun and you'll be able to enjoy a leisurely shop at Priory Meadow!
How to find us
We are on the first floor of the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, across from car park level 6.
Open 7 days a week for children between 2-8 years old. Only 4 per hour, Opening hours Mon-Sat 8.30am - 5.30pm (Open late until 7.30pm on Thursdays for late Night Shopping) Sunday 10am - 4pm
Make anote in your diary to come along to the very popular Christmas Lights switch- on and Firework display on Thursday 11th November. The fun starts from 5pm in Queens Square with the Arrow FM road show and members of the cast from this year's pantomime Cinderella.
On Thursday 18th November there is Santa's long awaited arrival to look forward to. Fun starts from 5pm in Queens Square with the Arrow FM road show.
It's great news that the ice rink is returning on Saturday 20th November until Tuesday 4th January so you can entertain the children while you're shopping or have some fun as a family.
Prices are from just 5 for a 30 minute session, including skate hire. For toddlers there are friendly penguins to learn on and these can be reserved for a small charge. Family and group tickets are also available.
Tickets can be purchased at the Hastings Information Centre in Queens Square in person or by calling 01424 451128. They are open seven days a week except closed Christmas Day& Boxing Day as even the penguins celebrate Christmas.
Ice skating gift vouchers also make great stocking fillers and Christmas Presents.

Battle - St Mary the Virgin Church, Upper Lake
BATTLE CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL
A Christmas Tree Festival will be held in the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Upper Lake, Battle. Visitors can enjoy a charming display of Christmas trees, decorated by local schools, churches and community groups, and are invited to vote for their favourites. Refreshments will be available in the Church hall.
The trees can be seen from 10.30 am to 6 pm on Saturday 27th and from 2.00 pm to 5.00pm on Sunday 28th November. Dean Edmondson will announce the winners at an Advent Carol Service starting at 6pm on the Sunday.
Subsequently, the Church will be open for those wishing to see the trees on Monday 29th November to Friday 3rd December from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and Monday 6th December to Wednesday 8th December from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. On 9th December the trees can be viewed from 5.30 pm until 9.00 pm.

CHRISTMAS SOUND AND LIGHT
Shop Window Christmas lights are switched on. The theme this year is white. There are prizes for the best dressed window, roaming and static music with pipers, drummers, singers etc. Local schools have been asked to design a Christmas poster for next year's banners and branding.
Whose Wearing What will host a fashion show along Grande Parade and there's to be a Pop Up Shop at 14 Grand Parade (Deborah Bowness Wallpapers). Competition to find the Odd One Out' in shop windows.

Battle High Street
BATTLE GALA NIGHT
A warm welcome awaits visitors to Battle's annual Gala Night when shops will open late (6 pm - 9 pm). Traders and businesses compete to win awards for their fancy dress and window decorations.
Local school and church choirs will be singing carols on the Abbey Green and there will be music and entertainment throughout the town. Santa Claus will visit the Almonry. The Wealden Craft Market will be in the Memorial Hall from 4.30 pm until 8.30 pm. There will be free parking in the Abbey car park for the evening.
