Christmas ---- An Astrological Perceptive of Celebrating It

Christmas ---- An Astrological Perceptive of Celebrating It

On 4th October 1582 the Gregorian calendar (the calendar what we use today) was implemented by Pope Gregory XIII over the Julian or Roman calendar which was in vogue till that day. When this switch was made 10 days were lost in making all the adjustments and the day of 4th October was transformed to 15th October.

Till date many Orthodox and Coptic Churches with quite a few people celebrate Christmas on 7th January as they think that the new calendar has robbed them out of 10 days.

The first recorded date when Christmas supposedly celebrated on December 25th was in 336 AD. A few years later Pope Julius I officially announced that the Jesus Christ's birth would be celebrated on the 25th December.Christmas ---- An Astrological Perceptive of Celebrating It

Out of many gospels (A gospel is a writing which describes the life, ministry, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus) the four recognized gospels which are the Gospel of Matthew, Gospel of Mark, Gospel of Luke and Gospel of John give a varied account on the date and time of birth of Jesus. What can be sketched out of these writings is a span of nine years i.e. from 7BC to 2AD which can be thought of His birth and spring the duration of the year.

In spite of all the confusion prevalent over the date of birth of Christ, His birth is celebrated religiously on the 25th of December all over the world.

Assigning this day to the birth of Lord Jesus had many reasons and some of them are enumerated below:

25th December was in all probability chosen because the Winter Solstice and the ancient pagan Roman midwinter festivals called 'Saturnalia' and 'Dies Natalis Solis Invicti' took place in December.

The Winter Solstice occurs on December 21st or 22nd each year when the amount of time between the sun rising and setting become shortest. Pagans regarded it as end of winter and beginning of spring and they celebrated Winter Solstice as a festival and worshipped sun.Christmas ---- An Astrological Perceptive of Celebrating It

Several other festivals are also celebrated in late December like Hanukkah (The Jewish festival of Lights) starts on the 25th of Kislev and Kwanzaa which is celebrated by many African-Americans during December 26th to January 1st.

Apart from the above probable causes the most relevant is the astrological cause. On the day of 25 the December Sun is the Sagittarius sign and has traversed approximately 10 degrees in this sign. A young Sun in this sign makes the person large hearted, impartial, truthful, religious, strong will power and a lover of creative work. He also is bestowed with Godly worthiness and becomes famous because of this ability. His body and mind always remains active and always filled with encouragement and expectations. As Sagittarius is a dual sign the placement of sun here gives the native multiple modes of ways to lead his life. The Kaal Purush horoscope' has the sign Sagittarius in the ninth house which symbolizes the association of the native with temple, monastery, court, ministry and the likes.

Sun on this day traverses the third Pada(stage) of Moola Constellation. Moola Nakshatra or constellation is not considered good by most as this constellation is a cusp constellation which gives the native unhappiness, misery and sorrow. Further more any happiness which the native receives is ruined in his life time. But this is not true verbatim as Moola constellation is placed in the Sagittarius which is the Moolatrikona Rashi of Jupiter and Sagittarius denotes for the fate as well in the Kaal Purush Horoscope'.

With the qualities as depicted above, it can be very well understood that to place the birth of Lord Jesus on this date had an astrological consideration as well.
