Chicago entertainment is having a rebirth, and the city has always been a great destination
. Being one of the largest U.S. it has never had a difficult time getting the top events. If great sports, , concerts, music, theater and dining are your interests than this city is sure to deliver. While Chicago may not get the buzz and attention of say Las Vegas or New York City it is certainly in the same class. For many after their first visit they will return repeatedly to delve deeper into the history, excitement and fun that the "Windy City" always promises.What To Do
Like any great city Chicago has top-notch attractions such as museums, buildings and zoo's. You'll never be bored wondering what to do for Chicago entertainment. The Museum of Science and Industry is a great place to bring the family for interactive activities while the Field Museum will be more traditional for exploring worldly environments and cultures. You can visit the Sears Towers, once the tallest building, and head to the Skydeck for a view of the city from above. If time allows to try checking out the Lincoln Park Zoo or/and the John G. Shedd Aquarium for some great family adventure. There is even the Oak Street beach located right smack dab in the middle of there the city's downtown business district.

If looking for larger than life Chicago entertainment the city certainly has it. For fans of sports and baseball going to see a game or at least check out Wrigley Field will be a great treat. One of the last original ballparks left and considered one of the most beautiful and historic. The city has some of the best sports teams and venues so no matter what professional sports you enjoy you are always likely to be able and catch a big game.
If music is something you enjoy then be prepared for some of the best in the country. Of course there are always the biggest names, acts and tours schedules for stops at the major venues such as U2, Dave Matthews and The Black Eyed Peas. Chicago entertainment has also been providing some of the best blues and jazz acts since its early years. There are always big jazz and blues acts playing in the smokey dens of the city but the real fun is to explore the music scene and discover the cutting edge sounds and intimate venues and clubs while there. If dance clubs and the nightlife scene is more your cup o' tea Chicago has some of the hottest every day of the week all night long such as the legendary "Crobar."
If looking forward to seeing a theatrical production such as a musical or play Chicago entertainment will not leave you disappointed. The theater scene of the city has been revived, and many of the downtown theaters have been restored. Many of the big Broadway hits start out at the Chicago theaters, as well many that start on Broadway will find a home in Chicago. For example, the huge blockbuster "Wicked" which ran in the city from June 2005 to January 2009 became the most successful show in Chicago's theater history. The place to look for the best shows and theaters is "The Loop" which refers to the downtown area and home to the Chicago Theatre, Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theater, the Cadillac Palace Theatre, the Bank of America Theatre, and the Goodman Theatre.
Clearly, Chicago entertainment has a little something for everyone. The city is great for the entire family and there is always plenty to do. Make sure to plan your trip and fill your days with all the attractions and events so you do not miss out on anything. Most who visit the Windy City are sure to come back again, and once you get a taste of the excitement it definitely will be one of your top destinations.
