MERRY CHRISTMAS & PEACE TO THE WORLD!
As America prepares to celebrate Christmas Week, these are a few headlines reported by Voice of America:
New violence raged across Afghanistan Saturday, taking the life of at least one child and a Bangladeshi engineer;
South Korea to Go Ahead with Live-Fire Drills;
Deadly U.S. Missals Target Pakistani Military Bases;
U.S. Fears Bio-warfare Stemming from India.
We live in a world at war with terrorism. Event for Event, Life for Life, Eye for Eye. Yet civilization espouses the goals of peace, harmony, and good will. So why the dichotomy between ideals and reality?
When Man loses sight of the Purpose of Life, he acts without vision or morality. From Grass Root Individuals to World Governments, the Truth is the same. There are Spiritual Laws that work with principles as empirical as the laws of physics. And their overriding structure is incorporated within the following premise for the Purpose of Life:
1. To Know, Love, and Serve God above all; and
2. To Know, Love, and Serve our fellow Man as we seek to be known, loved, and served ourselves.
We may speak in different languages, come from different cultures, worship the same Deity with sundry names, but intrinsically all men know the Universal Law of Love because we choose to practice it every day. Don't we love family? Don't we love our cultures and nations? If fathers and mothers seek to kiss their children and warmly tuck them in before turning out the lights, why don't we exhibit that same innate value of love and share it with the world? Wouldn't peace and joy reign instead of hatred and violence? Wouldn't it be a better way to start every day?
Man's conflict comes from self-seeking pursuits that disregard the effect on others. It may be benevolent through lack of understanding, or it may be malignant by disrespecting Spiritual Laws. Spiritual existence is manifested in a material world where the common denominators are Spiritual Values, Universal Order, and Divine Purpose. Nations and People are but stewards for God's Creation. We possess nothing when we come into this material world, and we take nothing from it when we shed our mortality. So why the obsession with clinging to materialism from cradle to the grave?
Fear of Vice rather than Faith in Virtue. Fear of not having enough. Fear of losing what we have. Fear of others acquiring more than we. And to what end? At what cost. Self-reliance is noble, but self-centeredness is contemptible. Are we motivated to take what others have just to assuage our fear of loss? Do we justify more bread for our families when others starve? Do we rationalize bigger houses for our children when many are homeless? Do we need more oil for the engine of our egos when whole families are relegated to pedestrian lives? And the same is true for governments. Does fear instill policies that usurp control over foreign cultures, religions, and people to assure that we'll have more? Upon reflection, if governments viewed themselves in the mirror of justice rather than judging others through the looking-glass of fear, wouldn't the world be better served through charity rather than retaliation?
It's through loving kindness that we begin to seek a perspective outside of ourselves. We acquire Knowledge, and we come to understand others' needs and desires. Through communications we learn to care and share. Love inspires Service. And just as we come to know the Christ Child in our arms at Christmas and wish to protect our families, nurture them, and direct them through His Inspiration, we can begin to hold whole nations close to our hearts with new values on the macro-stage of the world. Wouldn't we be empowered through focused vision us to make the Globe Theater a more Peaceful Place?
Ultimately,al Qaeda won't be conquered through Armed Force, nor will America be defeated by terrorism. There will be victory only when both sides decide to win through Open Arms of Understanding, Love, and a Joint Resolve to Serve One Another. This isn't true because Democrats, Republicans, Shiites, Sunnis, or Kurds vote it soit's true because the Spiritual Laws of the Universe intrinsically make it so.
This is not to say that evil doesn't exist, or that force doesn't have a purpose. When individuals or nations lose sight of the paradigm of knowledge, love, and service as life purpose, it becomes necessary to provide protection. Force is a deterrent. But to achieve happiness within order, the goal must be spiritual unity. Free Will chooses the Greater Good over self-serving individual benefits. When Order is Mandated, it Imprisons rather than Liberates. It must be an internalized choice. Freely given, freely acceptedeven at great personal sacrifice. After all, isn't that inherent within the message of Christmas? Didn't Christ sacrifice Himself realizing that imposed order, even Divine Order, is meaningless?
The same was true for America in 1776. Peaceful Order was the objective, but not through suppression. The Mandate: If order is not freely given, it will eventually evolve because that is the intrinsic imprint of spiritual DNA law. Just as Thrust must equal Drag, and Lift Gravity to maintain straight-and-level flight in aerodynamics, Order and Freedom must be in equilibrium to reach any spiritual destination.
Ronald Reagan knew the concept well when he sought to develop a Star Wars Defense System as a shield against nuclear aggression. His realization was that once in place, the United States would in turn share the program with the world so that all nations could live free from the fear of religious and political tyranny.
In the 1500's the Phoenicians developed the A,B,C's to establish Universal Symbols through which Diverse Languages could Interface for Business. Good Concepts of Service intrinsically work. Not because nations vote Truth into Power, but because Truth is Intrinsically Valid. Truth, freely communicated, allows for universal solutions to order. When valued goods and services are exchanged fairly, healthy business resultsnot when oppressed nations are prostituted by tyrannous people who usurp and hoard wealth as a means for power and personal gain.
Knowledge, tempered through the heat of experience, yields the dross of Truth. When put into practice, it benefits the world as Wisdom. Jesus pointed out 2000 years agoThe Truth Will Set You Free. His truth. Virtue. Through Christ there is Knowledge of God. In Knowing Him we are Inspired to Love Him. And through Love we are sparked with the passion to serve Him. It follows that when we know Him we seek to Know, Love, and Serve Our Fellow Man within His Creation. That is why we celebrate Christ's birth each yearto relish the Joy of Peace through His Lessons of Truth. That is His Gift of Divine Love to alland our empowerment can accomplish Miracles through His Gift of this Holy Spirit.
