Craft projects are perfect for gathering around the kitchen table as families to do. There are a great many simple and cheap craft projects for Halloween that are also child friendly. Scary ghost stories and talk about school, friends and traditions from when you were growing up are all excellent activities to partake in while making your crafts.

Witches Hats--For this project you will need some black, orange and green construction paper, Heavy duty tape, green, purple or orange Easter grass, craft glue, and safety scissors. You will also need some party hat string which you can get from any good craft store. Start out by cutting half circles out of the orange or green construction paper to make a full circle tape the half together and set aside. Now using the black construction paper tape four sheets together into a square. Roll the square up to make a cone and tape it into position. The kids can do all of this with the help of mom and dad. Once the cones are finished cut the bottoms off so that they are even all the way around and piece up any small areas with tape. Using the craft glue, glue to the inside of the back of each cone, a "wig" of Easter grass. Place a chin strap of party hat string on the hat with a touch of crafts glue. After everything has dried, place the cones on the kid's heads first and then place the rings over the cones to make the brim of the hat.

Front Walk Luminaries--For this craft project you will need some lunch bags, and exact-o craft knife, markers, paints, tea light candles and craft sand. Have the kids draw, paint and design the exterior of the bags . Once they are finished the parent can use the knife to complete any cut-outs that are needed. Move to the yard and let the kids pick the places to put their luminaries. Now, pour the craft sand into a large bucket and let the children pour about a cup and a half of sand (using an old measuring cup) into the bottom of each bag. The night of Halloween let the kids place the tea lights into the bags firmly into the center of the sand. Mom and dad can light the candles after dark arrives and everyone can enjoy the fun of having guests see the efforts you made together.Building Memories And Fun With Easy Halloween Crafts For Children

Start out by filling the garbage bags with newspaper and grass clippings, one they are full shape them into arms and legs and a body for your scare crow. Now duct tape the arms and legs to the broom sticks and put the pants and shirt on the arms and legs. Place the body into the shirt and reach behind to duct tape the body to the broom sticks as well. Make a head using a white trash bag filled with grass and newspaper. Paint a face on with markers or crafts paints and using a roll up of duct take attach it to the top of the body at the neck of the shirt. Place his hat on the head and stand him up in the yard. Kids can help out with just about every stage of this process as there is very little that would be difficult or dangerous with this project.
