Bones is an American Comedy Drama of Fox TV that is running successfully for 6 seasons. It has been inspired by the life and work of real life forensic anthropologist and author Kathy Reichs (Produced and wrote several episodes). The story revolves around the murder mystery solving by Dr. Temperance Brennan (played by Emily Deschanel) who is a forensic anthropologist at fictional Jeffersonian Institute of Forensic Research using her forensic expertise. She is teamed by FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanz) and their friends and colleagues at FBI and Jefferson institute. The pilot of Bones TV series was aired on September 13, 2005 and has completed five seasons since then. Its sixth season is currently on air.
The story revolves around and based on Forensic Expert Dr. Brennan whose socially awkward behavior softens the tone of the story (that police procedural usually have) and provides comical relief. Bones is her nickname given by her co-protagonist FBI Agent Seeley Booth. She is sometimes seen to be intensely in relations with Seeley. From third person's perspective they are seem to be in serious relation but they both have denied it. She had relations with other men throughout different seasons. But she fails to hide her jealousy over Seeley's relationship with other women.
Seeley Booth is Bones' partner. He is an FBI special agent deployed on to solve murder mystery involving human remains. Here comes the Bones expertise to help. He is teamed with her to solve murder cases along with his colleagues at Jeffersonian Institute. Seeley had a 9 year old son with his ex-girlfriend Rebecca. Though they separated but their relationship reignites time and again. This reigniting doesn't allow the duo's (Bones and Seeley) relations to settle. He was a former sniper in US Army. He sometimes seems to be atoning for his sins as sniper.
Angela Montengro played by Michaela Conlin is a best friend of Dr. Bones. She works as a 3D artist at Jeffersonian institute whose expertise help the team to figure out how the victims would look like before their death. She is married to his co-worker Jade Hodgins. She is quite experienced at sexual and romantic front as it appears from her dialogues in different episodes.
Criticism: though Bones TV Series has made its place in myriad of police procedural drama. But it sometime appears to be a sequel to former Fox TV famous show the X-files as both have similar theme. It ranked at 60 in first season in 2005 and 06. Though it later increased its rating as it progressed to later seasons but it is on 32nd position according to viewership.
Appreciation: the producer and writer of Bones TV series (though there are several; both producers and writers) Kathy Reichs lends scientific credibility to the show as she is forensic anthropologist. It garnered viewership of over 10 million people in US. The crux: Definitely Bones TV series has made a prominent place in archive of murder mystery TV series. Successful sixth season and proposed spin-offs are its evidence.
