Getting to this wonderful place is not a chore as its located in the suburbs, quite close to Taipei city. Here, the hot spring and pools are scattered over quite an area near the base of a slumbering volcano which hasnt stirred in centuries. A distinct reek of sulphur hangs in the air around the Beitou Hot Springs, and in colder days, the entire area is covered in a haze emanating from the heated waters. The springs that are good to have a dip are the ones in which the water is milky white and only slightly acidic; just the right amount of fizzle to give your body a total cleanse without eating into it.
