How to Make it Through Christmas With Your Cheating Husband

The news about your husband's cheating has really thrown you for a loop. You feel like your life and your marriage are in a tailspin. With the holidays rapidly approaching and you facing the many demands of friends, family, and community, now might seem the worst possible time to discover your husband's cheating. How on earth can you make it through Christmas knowing that he has been seeing someone else?

Like any crisis in life you deal with this news to the best of your abilities. Some days will definitely be better than others but these things will help you get through the good days and the bad with your head held high until you're able to take a break from life and holidays long enough to sort out where you want your marriage to go from here.

1) Hold Your Head High. This is not the time to confide in friends or family about what's going on at home. Keep it to yourself and pretend no one else knows what's going on even if you feel certain they do. Smile, nod, and hold your head up as high as possible. Don't act as though there's another woman vying for the affections of your husband and never, ever let anyone else see you acting that way.How to Make it Through Christmas With Your Cheating Husband

2) Deal with One Day at a Time. There's something to be said about that old song of comfort. The words are timeless and so very true. Take one step at a time and deal with one day at a time. You'll find that you're in a much better frame of mind and better able to face the daily challenges of Christmas without the added worry of your husband's cheating when you do just that.

3) Know Your Own Worth. Never let your worth be determined by the actions of another. A wise first lady once said that no one can make you feel bad about yourself without your permission. Don't give anyone that permission. You are your biggest fan and if you want to save your marriage and get your husband back by Christmas you need to let him see and understand that fact too!

4) Don't Play the Blame Game. As tempting as it is to lash out at your husband because he hurt you and hold him responsible for all the ills of the world, this is not the time to start pointing fingers and assigning blame. If the truth is told you'll find plenty of guilt, blame, and other negative emotions to carry you both through to a completely miserable new year. Be positive, have positive thoughts, and expect positive things if you really want to get them.
