Every year, usually from September to November, the garden host a live butterfly exhibit in the Marshall Butterly Pavilion. There you will learn about the many different species and types of butterfly, including monarch butterflies.

This is a great exhibit for families, because it is educational and fun. The butterflies are not shy, and land on visitors and spectators if you sit still enough.

Another great outdoor activity is taking a visit to the Phoenix Zoo. It is home to more than 1,300 animals, including 200 endangered species.

Your children will love all of the different exhibits, especially the white tiger cubs and the monkey areas. The zoo also holds different events throughout the year, including holiday lights, concerts, and workshops.

If you love to learn, pay a visit to the Arizona Science Center in downtown Phoenix. This multiple story museum is full of all types of exhibits dealing with biology, chemistry, genetics, and the human body.

This is a great place for families, because it is both fun and educational. The exhibits are very extensive and contain a great deal of hands-on learning and experiments.

The museum also welcomes a great deal of different traveling exhibits throughout the year. Past exhibits have included Body Worlds and the Titanic.

The Arizona Science Center is a place that can hold your attention the whole day. They have an IMAX theater that plays short scientific programs, a planetarium, a food court, and a gift shop.

If you pay a visit to Phoenix during the summer time, there is still a great deal of thrilling entertainment. If you have access to a boat or do not mind renting one for a day, pay a visit to Lake Pleasant.
