Just like Logan's breakdown of the year in independent watchmaking, we have to start
link at the top with the same watch, the winner of this year's GPHG's
link top prize, the
link Aiguille d'Or. While Logan "enjoyed learning and writing about" MB&F's first chronograph – his introduction post eloquently broke down the complicated watchmaking and unique functions – this one nearly broke my brain. Frankly, that's just the kind of modern watchmaking I live for.

This Universal Geneve Climate-Proof brings me back to a time
link when one of my favorite vintage brands was much more involved in the watch collecting discourse than we know it today. In
link roughly
link 2014, wearing a clean mid-century UG on a snuff suede strap was one of the most in-vogue things a watch collector could do.
