The three vehicles named by the Highway Loss Data Institute, an affiliate of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, that are in the top 10 were the Prius Hybrid, Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab pickup truck and Sienna all-wheel-drive van. The overall theft losses take into account the rate the insurance claims are filed and also the size of the payments for claims. Of the total average claims, the vehicles in the top 10 ranked had overall theft losses of less than 15 percent.
