Are You Frustrated At Being You And Can't Understand Why Life Seems To Drag You Down?

Have you heard about enlightenment and decided that achieving 'it' will

solve all your problems? Do you seek after enlightenment? Or do you wish you could magically work out how to be someone different?

Once you have achieved that then life would be easy right?

This might strike you as ludicrous in moments of clear awareness. It is the way that it is and where you are at is where you need to start accepting. Accepting everything that you find in life as the way it is and being OK with the perfection of this moment, even if it hurts, is an exercise in spiritual growth.

You don't need to do an exercise to achieve spiritual enlightenment, you just need to get that what is now is now.

That isn't to say life will always be presenting your first choice preference. How could this moment always be everyone's conscious first choice preference? It can't.

Being OK and loving of yourself for all that you are and all you are not is a nice place to be. It is nice because you are then in harmony with life and your whole being.

You can even go a step further and be grateful for the experience right now, even if it is unpleasant. Do be resistant and ungrateful of this moment suggests that something has happened by accident and you are the victim.

Whether it is part of your subconscious selection or just a complete random accident that you have been yelled at, had your car stolen, been fired from your job, it feels better to accept that for some reason you have been brought to this situation and then resistance drops away. It is the resistance to life that hurts, not the events of life. The opposite of resistance is acceptance.

I tend to find that thinking about life in a way that feels good is usually a sign that I am closer to the truth. This doesn't mean ignoring situations or distracting yourself from feeling, that only feels better for a short time, what this means is finding a way to be flexible in your thinking until you find some peace within.

So even though you have been fired maybe something bigger and better is awaiting you and thinking that way allows you to accept and be grateful. Maybe you can learn a lesson from the episode that will allow you to achieve your heart's desire. Kind of counter intuitive I know but play with thinking about things differently, have different perspectives and see what feels better and gives you greater inner peace and contentment.

Through inner peace you may become directly conscious of what you are as a human being. This enlightenment or knowing of your essence may be what you are truly looking for. The powerful work position, status, wealth or achievement that you think is the bearer of the contentment and enjoyment of life you seek might seem pathetic and weak once you realize how simple it is to feel good.

Suffering ceases when the mind switches to acceptance. It will take vigilance and practice but saying yes and thank-you to more and more moments will transform you life.

In any given moment you are as you are. You have strengths and weaknesses, times to shine, times to sit and let others shine.

You have your particular history and life experience that is unique. It is 'you' but it is also not you. It is not real and unchanging, it is not the ever-present you which you have probably been ignoring.

Simply observe, acknowledge and say yes to what you experience firstly, then go about getting to know yourself and why you feel different around different people and situations. What are you making it mean about you?
