Air Tran Airways Travelers Can Change Date Free Of Cost
Air Tran has joined the many airlines that have recently waived their date change
and cancellation penalties on flights affected by recent adverse weather conditions throughout the West.Although, this is a very good gesture from airlines, that will help people in alerting their dates to suitable weather however, this will also help the airlines in regulating the air traffic after thousands of flight cancellations in Europe and Americas.
The US based Airline, AirTran is a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., and is a low cost American Airline. In a notice released this month the airline has advised passengers scheduled for travel to/from cities in the northeast affected by the winter weather system that it has extended the waiver period to 14 days past original date of travel for those passengers booked for travel on December 27th, through Thursday, December 30, 2010.
The airline further states that passengers may change their reservation without penalty as long as travel is completed within 14 days after the original scheduled departure date, based on space availability without fees or fare adjustments to on flights to Allentown, Pa., Atlantic City, N.J., Baltimore/Washington, Md'. (BWI), Boston, Mass., Buffalo, N.Y., Harrisburg, Pa., Newport News/Williamsburg, Va., New York, N.Y. (LaGuardia), Philadelphia, Pa., Pittsburgh, Pa., Portland, Maine, Richmond, Va., Rochester, N.Y., Washington, D.C. (Dulles and Reagan), and White Plains, N.Y.
AirTran has canceled 57 flights yesterday, for December 27th due to the large number of passengers affected by cancellations over the Christmas holiday weekend, the airline encourages passengers to use the airlines website to check flight status and rebook as passenger call volume is extremely high.
AirTran operates over 1,000 daily flights, primarily in the eastern and Midwestern United States.
