A Teenage Guide To Living Gluten Free

To eat or not to eat, gluten that is! In the life of the average teenager with a gluten allergy it can be difficult or even embarrassing to get together with friends to eat out. If your buddies are as stubborn as mules when it comes to picking out the place to eat there are still other options. One option is to bring your own lunch. Foods ranging from sandwiches (made with udi's bread of course) to a simple meal of laughing cow cheese and crackers. Food like this doesn't only taste good it's extremely healthy so if you're a little bit embarrassed about being a gluten free teen then ladies can pass it off as a diet (sorry boys you'll just going to just have to tough it out).

But what if you're the type of person who's too lazy and too impatient to make your own lunch? Are you doomed to a life of starvation? Is there any hope for your famished tummy? Well, calm down. Don't panic. Worry your pretty little head no more. I have the solution for you. Shockingly, there are actually a lot of places that serve a gluten free menu, for example Carle's Jr.s low carb burgers (made with a lettuce wrap instead of a bun) are a excellent choice, and you can get most of your favorite types of burgers this way! Carl's Jr. 's French fries are also safe so feel free to get a meal deal. Another option is Wendy's. Wendy's chili is clean to and is really good with onions and cheese. The only thing you have to be wary of is the French fries. Whether they are gluten free or not can vary from store to store. Just be sure to ask if they have a dedicated fryer and you'll be ok (wouldn't want chicken nugget juice on our fries now would we?). A couple of other places you can go out to eat include:

Outback Steakhouse

P.F. Chang's China Bistro

Chili's Restaurants

Wendy's

Carl's Jr.

Burger King

Arby's

Dairy Queen

Taco Bell

McDonalds

KFC

Sonic

Applebee's

There's even more places but those are a few your most likely to see just be sure to ask the casher what the options for a poor gluten intolerant or Celiac soul.

If one decides to take the party outdoors you should be sure to wrap your food in plastic bags and put it at the top of the cooler so it doesn't get crushed. Weather you chose to eat or not to eat remember that there is no reason to be embarrassed for something that you cannot control and no matter what you chose be sure to enjoy yourself and don't let something as silly as a allergy hold you back. Act as if you were to be a teen.
