When the secondary battery becomes fully charged as a result of exposing the watch dial (solar cell) to light, the overcharging prevention feature is activated automatically to prevent the battery from being charged further. The dial is three dimensional and deeply textured for a rich and elegant appearance. The applied numerals rise above the dial. The date hand is curved with a unique sunburst pointer at the end that points to each numerical date. Even the moon phase dial shows the 29 and 1/2 day rotation periods.
