4 Ways to a Baby Name

4 Ways to a Baby Name

Author: Tom Tessin

One of the hardest things to do when having a baby is coming up with a name. If you don't know how you're going to name your child, or you don't even know on where you can start, I wanted to show you how you can find the perfect name for your child. By following these key steps below, you should be able to pick out the best name for your future baby girl, or boy.

Know the origin: Do you care about the origin of the name? Do you want to have a Hindu name? An African American name? If this matters, then the first thing that you'll want to do is write down the origins that mean the most to you. This will narrow down your list a lot. If you don't care, then you will most likely be open to anything.

Does the meaning matter? Every name has a meaning, and if you care what your child's name means, then you will highly want to consider writing down what sounds best to you. For example, think of the things that matter to you in life. Let's say that you're a Doctor, and the medical field means a lot to you. You can think of names that relate to the medical field, and have an importance to you, or even your family. This is a great way to find a name that works for you.

The flow: You don't want to name your child, and have them get slaughtered in school. You will want to find a name that flows well. The minute you think of a great name, you will want to say the first name, followed by the last. Does it flow well? If it's hard to say, it's going to be hard for others as well. You don't want to pick out a name as well that's going to get the kid picked on. Think of yourself for a second, and remember the times when you were made fun of? It wasn't a fun time in life.

Be unique: Some parents want to be unique, and some don't care if their child's name is as simple as the next. If you want to be unique, know this ahead of time. Research the name, because sometimes you will find out that some names are a lot more popular than you think. You can do simple searches online, and you can find those that fall in a top 10, or top 100 lists. Just because you think it's unique, doesn't mean someone else is going to.

Try these tips above if you're looking for the perfect baby name. Head down to your library, use the Internet, or borrow a baby name book from a relative that maybe had a baby. What you'll want to do is spend a few hours each week to find a name that best suits you. Once you find a name that's best for you, you're going to hopefully get a middle name that fits, and name that your child will love.About the Author:
