2 Barbecuing Techniques To Try This Summer

There is more than one way to barbecue a piece of meat

. If you know everything there is to know about grilling, then it might be time to try some new barbecuing techniques. Grilling is one of the most used barbecuing techniques, but this summer it might be fun to step out of the box and try smoking and braising.

Smoking and braising definitely take a lot more time than grilling. This is probably one of the main reasons why people have not tried these techniques. But even though smoking and braising take hours to preform, they are well worth the time. Both methods produce meat that is tender, delicious, and falling off the bone.

Smoking is a highly popular process, but typically people do not do it at home. Usually, places like restaurants will smoke large pieces of meat and serve it to many people throughout the day. This does not mean that it cannot be done at home.

To perform this process all you need is a smoker. Smokers cook meat "low and slow." The smoking method breaks down the texture of meat over a long period of time while enhancing its flavor. Smokers act as chamber in which the meat is wrapped in a cloud of dense smoke. The smoke along with the smoker's heat source cook the meat to perfection.

Braising is another great barbecuing technique that you can try out this summer. It uses moist heat to break down the texture of meat. You can braise meat on your BBQ Island or grill if the unit has a charbroil grill. It is similar to any other type of braising that you would do. You place your meat in a pot full of broth and then place the pot directly on the grill. This is technically called barbecue-braising because it uses a grill. Using this technique also makes it easy to brown the meat before braising.

This summer take the time to try one or both of these barbecuing techniques. Both smoking and braising will produce great BBQ. You may even have the best BBQ you've ever tasted.
