But even before installing a device at your home, you need to find out which device will suit you and your family as there are many wrong guidelines spread all around regarding the water filters. A wrong device will be of no help as it will not improve but worsen your health. Carbon filters produce up to 30 gallons of purified water per hour and also there is no wastage of water. In contrast to this is reverse osmosis which produces less than a gallon of filtered water per hour and also there is wastage of water around two to three gallons of water that they produce.
Industrial water treatment devices generally solve four water problems namely: scaling, corrosion, microbiological activity and disposal of residual water. Microbes are not at all a problem with the boiler as temperature is high and prevents the growing of microbes. Dissolved mineral salts in the water that cause scaling leading the water to precipitate and form solid deposits. These deposits are mobile like a fine salt or can form layers on the metal surface of the device. The problem is that the scale insulates and therefore exchange of heat becomes less efficient the reason being that the scale thickens.
